RIVER TUBE TRIPS

Warren to Hatton Ferry - ages 6 and above and able to swim
OUR MOST POPULAR RIVER TRIP AND EASIEST ACTIVITY!!
Rent a special "cooler tube" for your hard case plastic cooler up to 54 quarts
NO jumping or diving on ANY trip and all participants MUST be capable swimmers. There is NO trespassing allowed on Rock Island (private property just downstream from Warren).

No glass bottles or Styrofoam coolers

PLEASE .... NO PETS ALLOWED...

All tube trips depart on the half hour between 10:30AM and 2:00PM (hourly on weekdays). If river levels are below 3.2 feet, the last trip will go out at 1:30PM (this is also our mid September schedule if tubing is still going on).
**All participants MUST be off river and checked in by 6PM sharp...expensive late charges apply after 6PM.** Vehicles left after 7PM will be subject to TOWING AT OWNER'S EXPENSE.

Our 3 mile river tube trip winds through beautiful rural countryside and has a nice set of novice rapids to end up the excursion here at Hatton Ferry. After a safety briefing and trip itinerary we bus your party upstream from our location to the put in spot. You then float back to James River Runners at your own speed subject to the whims and fancies of the river currents and wind patterns. This way you end back up where your car is parked and don't have to worry about a time schedule or a long, hot bus ride back to your vehicle. We do ask that all rental equipment be off river at 6PM. The trip generally will take 2 to 4 hours but may vary according to conditions and your activities while on river. Clients that require personal floatation devices (life jackets) are hereby informed that they are available at no extra charge.

This is the easiest, most novice trip we offer and is very popular with all ages (must be at least 6 years old ). One needs no river experience but must be in good enough shape to participate, BE ABLE TO SWIM, and have suitable footwear, ie: Tevas, aqua socks, tennis shoes, or any type of lace up shoe. Flip flops are not acceptable. Be aware of the inherent hazards of any outdoor recreational activity and changing weather conditions.

This trip includes several areas suitable for picnicking, rock hunting, or just exploring. "Rock Island" (private property - NO trespassing) is located in this section of river along with other sand bars and islands. DO NOT JUMP OR DIVE INTO THE RIVER FROM ANY HEIGHT!!! Game and Inland Fisheries personnel are now patrolling checking fishing licenses, life jackets in boats, and general violations of Virginia law on river. For comfortable inner tubing, the river water temperature should be at least 70 degrees with the air temperature 80 degrees or above! NOTICE: We do NOT offer services, shuttles, or parking for those who have their own inner tubes (which generally are unreliable to start with). We also do not offer tubes for rent to those who do their own shuttles. There is virtually no public parking available here, Hatton Ferry is NOT a PUBLIC boat launch facility, and PRIVATE lands are located on each side of the ferry. We can NOT accommodate those who have their own equipment for parking or use of our corporate lands. ANYONE using our facilities is required to read and sign an assumption of risk release form.
